Techstars

Notch was selected to be part of the inaugural Techstars class with the U.S. Air Force in 2018.

Notch is proud to share that it is now a Phase III awardee and finalist in the U.S. Army’s Expeditionary Technology Search (xTechSearch) program. The program, which was launched in the Spring, began with 350 competing companies vying to put forward new technologies and novel innovations for the U.S. Army.

Notch is one of 11 other companies from across the United States that has made it to this final phase. In addition to winning a cash prize of $125,000, Notch will now be working to develop and showcase a proof-of-concept for the Phase IV Capstone Demonstration in April 2019.

U.S. Army's xTechSearch Competition

The United States Air Force has awarded Notch Inc. an AFWERX/AFRL Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract. The award will provide resources to support the development of Notch's metamaterial technology.

AFRL and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research process in an attempt to speed up the experience, broaden the pool of potential applicants and decrease bureaucratic overhead. The program started in June 2018, and through 3 repeat calls for ideas a year, the Air Force has begun offering 'Special' SBIR topics that are faster, leaner and open to a broader range of innovations.

About AFWERX:

Established in 2017 by the Secretary of the Air Force and reporting to the Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force, AFWERX is a catalyst for agile Air Force engagement across industry, academia and non-traditional contributors to create transformative opportunities and foster an Air Force culture of innovation. The core mission of AFWERX is to improve Air Force capabilities by connecting innovators, simplifying technology transfer and accelerating results.
